Our Collections

Mann Library offers a wealth of information for users through its large collection of online resources, including E-Journals, online databases, and electronic reference tools. In addition, nearly 800,000 print volumes (stored both in Mann Library and at the Annex storage facility) are available, making Mann's one of the top library collections in agriculture, life sciences and human ecology in the United States today. The staff in the Library's Collection Development group regularly selects new books, journals, electronic resources, and multi-media/audiovisual materials. This steady influx of current material, combined with Mann's important historical collections support the research, teaching, and extension programs of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Human Ecology and provide a strong basis for scholarship in interdisciplinary areas across the University.

The Collection Development and Preservation Division at Mann Library is responsible for the selection of material for the Library's collection. We select books, journals, electronic resources, and a small number of multi-media/audiovisual resources that support the research, teaching, and extension programs of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Human Ecology. In addition to the maintenance of these physical collections, a number of our initiatives also focus on the collection, access and long term preservation of resources in digital form, which give Mann Library a global role in the dissemination of scholarship throughout the world.
